Day Tours
For the comfort of clients, tours are conducted in an air-conditioned Toyota Quantum with tinted windows for UV protection. Our rate is per client to a maximum of 9 passengers and includes limited cool drinks and mineral water in an on-board fridge, and 14% VAT.
The rate excludes gate entrances, meals and drinks, alcohol, gratuities, personal travel and medical insurance.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable to confirm the booking and the b alan ce before departure.
DS-001 : “All Around Pretoria ”
These favourite half-day tours (morning or afternoon) are comprised of visits to:
a) Freedom Park , Church Square , Melrose House (a Victorian mansion preserved with all of it’s antiques) and the Union Buildings (home to the president’s office), or
b) The Voortrekker Monument , Church Square , Kruger House Museum , and the Union Buildings . To enjoy the jacaranda-lined streets of Pretoria (the Jacaranda City ), time your tour for mid-November onwards!

DS-002 : Tswaing Meteorite Crater – Here the youngest, small bowl-shaped, meteorite crater in the world, which is 220 000 years old, can be viewed. Choose between a guided tour or self-explanatory walk of 7.2 km around the rim and down into the impact crater (Depending on time of visit, a picnic lunch must be taken with).
DS-003 : Rietvlei Nature Reserve – A slow drive taken through this 3000 ha reserve close to Pretoria will reveal exciting animal species such as white rhino, numerous antelope and – if you are lucky – cheetah! (Depending on the time of the visit, a picnic lunch must be taken with).
DS-004 : The National Botanical Gardens – An extensive, beautiful garden containing indigenous plants from all over South Africa grouped in their natural areas of African savannah, grassland, hill vegetation, waterfall and shady forest vegetation, the shade and succulents gardens, and the special features of the Aloe Koppie, Dassie Trail, Aromatic garden, Cycad garden and Medicinal garden, to name a few. Walk at your leisure on paved walkways to view the diverse plant life – a popular picnic and concert venue. (There is a restaurant in the gardens for lunches and tea).
DS-005 ; Sammy Marks Museum – Enjoy a most interesting and informative guided tour of the home (completed around 1900) and all its original furnishings, art and garden of Sammy Marks, an early, far-thinking businessman, whose career took off in the Kimberly diamond rush. He and his cousin, Isaac Lewis, founded numerous industrial companies thereafter and had shares in a number of others. He donated £10 000.00 for the sculpting of the Kruger Statue in Church Square and made many other such contributions to the culture and history of Pretoria . (A tea garden is available for tea and lunches).
DS-006 : The Wonderboom Nature Reserve – This reserve includes the enormous historical “wonder tree”, a wild fig more than 1000 yrs old and 20m high. Shaded picnic areas and hiking trails are available and the remains of the old Wonderboom Fort are located here. (Bring a picnic lunch if required).
DS-007 : The Smuts House - Enjoy a fascinating self-guided tour of this historic and interesting home of General J C Smuts, President of South Africa. This tour reveals the unpretentious lifestyle of the Smuts Family and includes the original library/office of General Smuts, where all his original books and papers etc. are preserved, and where affairs of state were discussed. (A tea garden is available).
DS-008 : The Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary – This sanctuary was named in honour of J Austin Roberts, the greatest ornithologist yet produced in South Africa . The nine small perennial dams attract a multitude of water bird species which can be observed from the bird hide. Guided walks are available but must be booked in advance. (A restaurant is available on the banks of the larger dam).
DS-009 : Curios and Coins – Spend a morning or afternoon shopping in the most comprehensive and fascination curio shop in our area, where every taste is catered for, foreign notes accepted and large items packed and shipped for clients. The South African Mint is for coin lovers and those who wish to purchase Kruger Rands. (Restaurants are available).

A full day is required to travel and visit the following attractions:
DS-014 : “The Cradle of Humankind and Moropeng Visitor’s Centre ” :
Step down into the Sterkfontein Caves in the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site, for this fascinating guided tour and experience a feeling of awe and wonder at being in such an ancient environment. Some crouching and bending down is required in a few sections of the caves, so comfortable hiking shoes are recommended. For the outdoor guided walk on the way to the caves, sun screen and hats should be used. The centre is open from 09h00 to 17h00. Tours start every half hour and are one hour long. (A restaurant is available). This tour also takes in a fascinating and informative visit to Maropeng, the Official Visitor’s Centre for the Cradle of Humankind. Replicas of original fossils from the Cradle and other world sites are on display, including Mrs Ples. The latest time of the day to begin a visit is 15h30. (A restaurant is available for lunch).
DS-015 : “Lesedi Cultural Village and Rhino and Lion Park ” :
Lesedi Village offers 2 tours a day. The morning tour starts at 11h30 and ends at 14h30 and includes lunch. The afternoon/evening tour starts at 16h30, ends at 19h30 and includes dinner. These tours are combined with a visit to the Rhino and Lion Park – Spend a enjoyable hours viewing rhinoceros, lion, cheetah, wild dog and hippopotamus at close range for wonderful photo opportunities! (Restaurant available).
DS-016 : “Cullinan Diamond Mine Tour and Cullinan Area” :
At the Premier Diamond Mine, where the Cullinan Daimond was found, watch a video of the underground mining and the Cullinan Hole before being guided on the surface tour. View diamonds and replicas, the mine shaft etc. (A number of restaurants are available).
(Underground tours are conducted on the 2 nd Friday of each month and last for 3 hours. No children under 16 years.) Afterwards, old corrugated iron mine houses, still in use in and around the village of Cullinan , can be viewed from the streets and a visit to the Italian Prisoners of War Cemetery just outside the village, concludes a very interesting visit.
DS-017 : “ Gold Reef City ” :
This is a theme park built around an old gold mine, which shows Johannesburg as it was at the turn of the century. There are a number of activities to participate in, for example, a journey down the shaft, a gold-pouring demonstration as well as tribal dancing, showing various dances from the whole of the Southern Africa. (Restaurants are available).
DS-018 : “De Wilt Cheetah & Wildlife Centre and Elephant Sanctuary” :
Visit the Rare and Endangered Species Captive Breeding Centre at De Wilt Cheetah & Wildlife Centre. See, amongst others, wild dogs, king cheetahs, hyaenas and various species of vultures and owls. The tour coincides with feeding time. Advanced booking is required. (Snacks and cool drinks are for sale). This is followed by a visit to the Elephant Sanctuary – Meet, touch and feed the five elephants during an exciting, educationally orientated programme, conducted by experienced guides, who have a wealth of knowledge about the elephants.
DS-019 : “ Sun City and Lost City” :
Travel through the Magaliesberg Mountains and enjoy the magic of Sun City – The Las Vegas of Africa. Walk over the elephant bridge and feel the earth shake on the way to the Lost City , see the Valley of the Waves with its extreme water slide and inland beach and tour the Palace Hotel to marvel at all its amazing features. Through the Cascades Hotel, across the suspension bridge, visit the man-made cascades and sparkling swimming pool. A morning visit to Sun City can be combined with a 2 hour tour of the neighbouring Pilanesberg National Park . (Restaurants are available).
DS-020 : “ Pilanesberg National Park ” :
If you do not have time for a Kruger National Park Tour this is your best alternative. Only 2 hours away from Pretoria and Johannesburg , this 58000 hectare park – the fourth largest in South Africa – is situated on the eroded remains of a 1.2 billion-year-old extinct volcanic crater. It is also home to the Big Five (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhinoceros) as well as many antelope and more than 365 bird species. An early start is required for a full day taking in as much of this magnificent park as possible. Cameras and binoculars are a must. (Restaurants are available).
