"More than a safari company..."
"Family owned and run..."
David was born in Zambia in 1952 and moved to Zimbabwe in 1954 where he completed his junior and senior schooling. School holidays found him on the family farm in Zambia where the days were spent hunting, fishing and learning about nature from his Grandfather and Grandmother. David then moved to South Africa where he married Stephanie.
Before living in Zambia ( Northern Rhodesia ), David's Grandfather was a forest officer in India where Tiger, Panther, bear and other endemic game was hunted by his Grandparents. His Grandfather had vast areas that he had to patrol and tours of duty would often take 3 months to complete - the mode of transport in those days was by elephant and ox cart!
Occasionally, David’s Grandparents had the task of hunting man-eating Tigers and on one occasion his Grandfather sat over the remains of an Indian worker that had been killed by a Tiger, to wait for the animal to return. He dispatched the Tiger that night bringing a sense of relief and closure to the family of the deceased man.
